I've long advocated Dick Cheney leaving the ticket this year. I believe he was invaluable during the first term of Bush's presidency, but a second term must select a Vice President to be a president-in-training.
A lot of speculation is being made about John Kerry's running mate; I think Bush plans to steal all Kerry's VP selection thunder announcing his new running mate at the Republican Convention in August.
