Bush Looks Better in Uniform
Now we have someone on the other side that says he aided getting Bush into the national guard...the question is did Bush know?
Of course he didn't--because this dork did no such thing! Tell me when in the history of this country a democrat would do such a thing for someone from the opposing party? NEVER!
Amazon's Rating Bias
I just spent a few minutes at Amazon.com. If you look at the #1 bestseller, it is Unfit for Command. But if you look at the best selling new releases--no Unfit; if you look at best selling non-fiction--no Unfit; and if you look at best selling political books--no Unfit.
Now Unfit was recently released but it was in the number #1 slot for weeks. So what's the deal with Amazon? You decide.
The World Wants to Vote
John Gibson's Hating America states something that should be obvious to everyone: the world wishes they could vote in our elections. Thank God they don't! Right Wing News points us to a great article written by a Canadian about our upcoming election; here is a snippet:
If the U.S. presidential election were held in Canada, John Kerry would win a landslide, with at least three-quarters of the vote, perhaps taking even Alberta. But they don't hold it here. (My reader will immediately grasp why no Republican administration could ever wish to annex Canada. Conquer and enslave us perhaps, but no plan that involved an extension of the franchise could fail to subvert the invaders.)
The world at large, and even the arguably-allied West, might well vote differently from the Americans, given their druthers. But they aren't Americans, and no matter how similar or dissimilar their societies, they do not carry the responsibilities which our southern neighbours bear. The U.S. simply IS the world's uncontested superpower -- the adult in the planetary kindergarten -- and with that comes an outlook no one else can fully share.
Terrorists for Kerry!
Yasser Arafat has already said he is waiting out the election hoping Kerry wins. If that's not enough reason for Jewish voters to vote for W, then read the following:
Why should Jews want the re-election of George W. Bush? Let's start with the removal of Saddam Hussein, his resolve in fighting Islamic terrorists, his unequivocal support for Israel's government and people, his willingness to confront the appeasers of terror in the United Nations, and his steadfast commitment to the principle of prevention.Read more on why George W. Bush deserves the Jewish vote!
The case for George W. Bush is the case for a clear and consistent US foreign policy. In three and a half years, President Bush has done more for Israel than any other president in the last 50. And, unlike his opponent, he has never wavered, vacillated, or equivocated in his support.
Je ne regrette rien
The Economist has a very fair article looking at Bush's accomplishments and failures. Going into the election, I will never give a Democrat an inch in a discussion--because they will take a mile. But a fair analysis is instructive by allowing us to look at Bush's agenda for the next four years and to see if they are going to tackle the "other" issues we could not deal with because of 9/11.
My Name Is Peaches and I'm the Best; All the DJ's Want to Feel My B....
Michelle Malkin writes an excellent post about how coming to America is not a world entitlement:
Coming to America
The State Department, after consultation with the Department of Homeland Security, has revoked the visa of a Muslim scholar with possible links to terrorist organizations, including al Qaeda:
Russ Knocke, a Department of Homeland Security spokesman, told Reuters on Tuesday, that the work visa was taken back because of a section in federal law applying to aliens who have used a "position of prominence within any country to endorse or espouse terrorist activity."Islamic groups, naturally, are whining about the visa revocation. Islam Online reports:
He said the revocation was based on "public safety or national security interests".
[The] Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) said the DHS decision to revoke a visa previously granted to Tariq Ramadan sends the wrong message to the Islamic world about America's willingness to listen to what Muslims have to say.No. It sends the right message: Coming to America is a privilege, not a right. Nobody has an entitlement to get a visa to come here and peddle Islamofascist dogma. It's about time we pulled out the welcome mat.
CAIR continues:
"The best way to improve deteriorating relations with the Muslim world is by listening to mainstream Islamic political and religious voices, not by censoring respected scholars whose views are apparently feared by those who seek a monopoly on intellectual debate," said CAIR Executive Director Nihad Awad."Mainstream?" John Little at Blogs of War has done some digging into Ramadan's teachings here and discovers the name of one of Ramadan's courses: "A Faith to Die For."
Meanwhile, Robert Cox at The National Debate reports that White House National Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice is being pressured to intervene in the Ramadan case.
Hang tough, Dr. Rice. The world is watching.
Tradesports
If you go and visit Econopundit frequently, as you should, you'll notice that the bid for Bush's re-election has gone from 50.9 to 55.9 in the last two weeks which mirrors the trend in the most recent polls. Kerry's re-election buy has dropped from 45.5 to 43.5 in the last two weeks as well. These points are out of a 100.00 total. Keep checking back!
The New Soldier!
Let's put these idiots in charge of our military and foreign policy: VOTE FOR KERRY! Follow this link and read the book penned by Kerry that he refuses to republish.
Freedom of Speech
Owen at Boots & Sabers asks the following:

How have we come this far? Have Americans lost their love of liberty?Read the excellent column here.

Kommunists Protest Powell
I hope more communists protest our leaders; the more the complaints of liberals and communists, stalinists, North Koreans, Iranians, Palestinians sound alike, the more we know they are the same.
I just think it's says a lot to see a communist group flying a banner in the birthplace of democracy.

Baby Brain Vacuuming Still Legal
NY judge today ruled that taking a baby's head out of a woman, puntruing its skull and sucking it's brain out is perfectly legal. Boots & Sabers has a great posting on how liberals play word games.
Kerry Admits War Records often Exagerrated
CNSNews and Newsmax report that during Kerry's Senate testimony in 1971 he admits that records were often fabricated or exagerrated. Would you like to know more?
Circus Show
Max Cleland is a hero but very bitter (and he has every right to be). But will someone please tell him that the democratic party is using him like a circus show freak simply to get public sympathy because he is missing three limbs?
That romp in Texas yesterday was the most disgusting stagecraft I have ever witnessed and was so transparent I think it turned of more undecideds than it won. Would you like to know more?
A Solution to the Swift Boat Controversy!
"Why don't we just give both sides some swiftboats, a few machine guns and lots of ammo, put them on a river somewhere, and let them settle this whole thing like gentlemen once and for all?" --Ann Coulter
Again, she just takes the most difficult situation and poses the most simple solution. Would you like to know more?
Husband Material
Proving that hot men don't need a six-pack, Rulon Gardner is probably one my favorite Olympic athletes to compete in the last couple of Olympics. He left his shoes in the middle of the mat--which signals retirement--after losing to some Iranian dude. After the match he should have told him he was Jewish.
Real men cry. Would you like to know more?
Blame US
True to form, the Greeks heckled the 200m final at the Olympics today (all medals won by Americans) because they were expecting to see their star that was booted for failing to submit to a drug test.
So blame the Americans for your stars failure to follow the rules. Would you like to know more?

Kerry Lies During Martin Luther King Ceremony
In January 2003, speaking at a Martin Luther King, Jr. celebration, John F. Kerry said:
UPDATE: Kerry was of the coast of Viet Nam on a ship; therefore, I apologize to John Kerry for calling him a liar.
I remember well April, 1968 - I was serving in Vietnam -- a place of violence -- when the news reports brought home to me and my crewmates the violence back home - and the tragic news that one of the bullets flying that terrible spring took the life of that unabashedly maladjusted citizen. There's just one problem, he wasn't in Viet Nam until November of 1968! What a liar!

6-pack of Whoopass on China
If you haven't noticed...we are leading the medals category in Athens (all without all that anti-Americanism we expected). Please check the results often on Sport's Illustrated.
Uh Oh, #2!
Kerry Backs Off on Medal Claim
After WND story on journal discrepancy spokesman says no enemy fire 'possible'
After WorldNetDaily's report last week of a discrepancy in John Kerry's personal account of his first Purple Heart, his presidential campaign has backed off on claims that he was wounded from enemy fire.
WND reported that nine days after Kerry claims he was hit by hostile fire in 1968, he wrote in his journal as he set out on a subsequent mission, "A cocky feeling of invincibility accompanied us up the Long Tau shipping channel because we hadn't been shot at yet, and Americans at war who haven't been shot at are allowed to be cocky."

Environmentalists for Kerry!
I actually love their music; "Crash" is one of the best songs ever...but the band is still stupid:
Dave Matthews Band Blamed For Human Waste
Aug 24, 2004 6:01 pm US/Central
Rock star Dave Matthews and his tour bus driver are facing a filthy lawsuit.
The Illinois Attorney General's office says they're responsible for dumping up to 100-gallons of raw human waste from a tour bus onto the Kinzie Street Bridge earlier this month.
The nasty mess rained down on passengers aboard a sightseeing boat two weeks ago.
The suit charges both the band and the bus driver with violating state water pollution laws, as well as common law public nuisance laws.
A spokesman for the band says all of its tour buses were parked at the time of the incident.
No Naked Boys
CNSNews.com reports that the Naked Boys Singing skit has been removed from the discounted list of act that delegates from for the RNC can view.
I think that's really stupid (seriously, I can disagree with the GOP!); I bet Dick Cheney would go!
No pun intended!
That's MY Organism, Thank you!
WOW! I had no idea this type of litigation went on but it seems that Kenya is suing Proctor & Gamble because they stole a rare organism from their country, cloned it millions of times over, then made billions from it.
KWS Seeks Millions From Procter & Gamble
The East African
The action could put a halt to illegal extraction of Kenya's biological resources, particularly those with huge industrial potential
THE KENYA Wildlife Service (KWS) is seeking a share of the hundreds of millions of dollars generated from the sales of a popular detergent and a bleaching agent manufactured in the US whose active ingredients were acquired in Kenya illegally.
With assistance from scientists at the International Centre of Insect Physiology and Ecology (Icipe), KWS has launched a claim for a share of the proceeds accruing to the US multinational giant Procter & Gamble and to Genencor International BV of the Netherlands with respect to the sales of Tide Alternative Bleach Detergent and "stonewashing" material.
According to information made available to The EastAfrican, Genencor was the company that discovered "extremophiles" (tiny organisms that are able to survive and thrive in extreme environmental conditions) in Kenya, cloned and later sold them to Procter & Gamble, which used them as critical ingredients in the manufacture of the detergent.
Letters from Kabul
More goings-on from my friend in Afghanistan!
thank you so much for your sweet letter. you're so kind to always be
thinking of me.
my experience in afghanistan has been amazing for the most part. in the states, people are always worried about the security but it seems here that poverty is a much bigger issue. case to point, i am currently sporting the "kabul cough," a cough that inflict foreigners when shortly after they arrive. when i asked what it was from, my boss explained that the poor/non-existant sewage system and animals roaming the streets cause a disproportionate amount of feces exposed, some of which gets caught in the air. so what i have is feces attacking my throat. now i don't know if this is true or not, but the fact that it's plausible suggests the state of this country.
as for specifics, i was interning for bearingpoint for a few weeks when i got a job offer from the UNDP. now i'm working on DDR (disarmament, demobilization, reintegration of ex-combatants). it's really interesting work and the learning curve is quite sharp at hte moment, which means that i come home every night exhausted. but the contract is 6-months which means that i will have to start looking for a job (again) starting in a few months. but that seems like a lifetime away.
as for iran, i haven't kept abreast with the news to know what's going on. if i remember correctly, most of the grievance is over the nuclear stuff. there might be a thing or two about iraq, and i vaguely remember the US being upset with iran because of something to do with al-qaeda. in studying the history of US foreign policy with Iran, it seems that a lot has more to do with perception than with reality. in this case, i think the neocons are out to get iran, for whatever reason. this is not to say that iran is blame free. but the types of grievances that the US has with iran does not warrant even mention of an attack. if you want to talk about oppression, iran's neighbor to the north, turkmenistan, should raise red flags. north korea's nuclear program puts iran's to shame. but a lot of this is political and has more to do with specific lobbies within the united states.
oh dear, it seems as though i'm babbling. i don't know how good any of this information will be for your blog. one of these days, i'll sit down and write a descriptive email about my stay in kabul. thanks for always thinking of me.
