Dan Rather, Republican

I must admit, shamefully, that I have not been diligent in reading my friend Tyler's exceptional blog--Red Line Rants. He was gone for a week supporting our paciderms in New York City. But he came back strong...particularly with this little what if:
If Dan Rather were on our side, you could more or less apply his statement about these Killian documents to the debate over the existence of Iraqi WMDs...
"This report was not based solely on recovered documents, but rather on a preponderance of evidence, including documents that were provided by unimpeachable sources, interviews with former Republican Guard officials and individuals who worked closely back in the early 1990s with Tariq Aziz and were well acquainted with his procedures, his character and his thinking.

In addition, the documents are backed up not only by independent handwriting and intelligence experts but by sources familiar with their content. Contrary to some rumors, no internal investigation is underway at the Pentagon nor is one planned."
